At last! A computer with photoshop. What do people DO without it? I made it down to my brother’s in the midst of the snowstorm to avoid getting stranded and miss the birth… but the baby was just teasing us. False alarm, so instead, I ended up stranded with lots of time and no computer. Kept myself busy rummaging at my mom’s as I tend to do, and dug up some old favorites, as well as some new ones.
Top left, my mom’s Ginger doll, amidst the clothes she and her sisters sewed for the doll as kids. Right, Swedish playing cards. These just make me think of summers at Stugan (the summer house); I always loved the illustrations when I was little. Still do. And a new find, my mom’s sewing instruction book from age 12 or so. The booklet consists mainly of different cross stitches, with completed samples for each, as well as details how to mend socks, remove stains… my mom was always ahead of her class so she could make more finished garments. I think I would’ve rather learned those things than whatever it was I was supposed to learn at that age.
