Getting back on my feet… and in front of a sewing machine for the first time in WEEKS! Grateful that my forced vacation (in bed) is over, and eager to get some new projects underway. But first, I have to gloat about a major improvement in the studio. I always have ‘ideas’ about what will improve my work space and productivity, but this new table top truly is a DREAM. I set it up immediately before getting sick so I haven’t gotten to enjoy it until today, and I have to say, it is everything I hoped and more. I’ve been able to set up permanent work stations (like a cutting mat, fabric cutting and pinning area, a packing area for orders… and if it weren’t for Apple’s love for my ironing board, I could keep that out too). Plus it’s high, so I’m not breaking my back bending over. It saves so much time, not having to set up and break down my work stations as I change actions (ironing, pinning, cutting, sewing…).
Quite simply, there is a lot more logic to the set up and organization, which allows me to think in a more orderly fashion too (I could use some help in that area from time to time). No more running around, putting tools down and forgetting where they are …. but we don’t need to go into all that. It’s in the past! 2013 is looking smooth and efficient.
