I got such a treat in the mail yesterday. Not only did I get the first holiday card of the season… I got 60+ other personal letters! A whole parcel full, in fact. Stuffed full, its got all kinds of history in there. My uncle came across all the letters my parents sent to my grandparents during their two years in the Peace Corps in Bolivia… I can’t remember what years, ‘69, ‘70? Of course on all the envelopes I couldn’t make out a single date on the Bolivian post stamps. Also a couple letters from their visit to mom’s family in Sweden on their way back to the US… AND, my uncle’s letters home during his service in Vietnam, around 1970 as well. The envelopes for these look to be made from magazine clippings from Vietnam. Excited to start reading.
